Create your workspace
Sign up for Pengo and go through setup. Add your business, your website, a widget that matches your brand, Pengo Intelligence, and the install code.

Setting up a Pengo workspace takes a few minutes. You create an account, then a short setup walks you through five steps. At the end your widget is ready to paste on your site.
#Create your account

Go to app.pengo.chat/signup.

Click Continue with Google, or fill in Name, Work email and Password (at least 6 characters) and click Create account.

If you signed up with email, open the message Pengo sends you and click the link to verify your address. Didn’t get it? Click Resend on the confirmation screen.
Once you’re signed in, Pengo opens setup. The steps along the side are Business, Website, Your widget, Intelligence and Install.
#1. Business
Tell Pengo who the workspace is for:

| Team size | Just me, 2–10, 11–50, 51–200 or 200+. |

| What do you want Pengo to do? | Pick any of Answer customer questions, Turn visitors into leads and Let AI answer for us. Optional. |
| How did you hear about us? (optional) | Optional. |
Click Continue. This starts your free 14-day Team trial. No card needed.
#2. Website
Type your website address into the address bar at the top, for example yoursite.com. Below it:
- Site is the name Pengo uses for this website in the dashboard. It’s filled in from your address, and you can change it.
- Assistant is the name Pengo Intelligence uses with your visitors. It starts as “Support”.
Click Continue. Pengo adds the website and starts reading its pages in the background, so Pengo Intelligence can answer from them.
#3. Your widget
Under Make it yours, you see your real widget and it updates as you make changes:
- Brand colour: pick a preset or enter a hex colour.
- Launcher side: Left or Right.
- Name shown in the chat: usually your company name.
- Logo: a square PNG, JPEG or WebP, up to 512 KB. It’s shown in the chat header.
- Greeting: the first message visitors see.
Click Looks good. You can fine-tune everything later in Settings Chat widget Style .
#4. Intelligence
Pengo shows how many pages it has read from your site so far. Type a question a visitor might ask, for example “What services do you offer?”, and click Ask to see how Pengo Intelligence answers.
Training keeps going in the background, so you don’t need to wait. Click Continue when you’re ready.
#5. Install
The last step gives you the code for your website.

Click Install code to open the snippet.

Pick your platform, click Copy, and paste the code before the closing
</body>tag on your site. The steps for each platform are shown above the code. -
Open your site in another tab. Pengo checks for the widget every few seconds and moves on as soon as it sees the chat bubble go live. Click Recheck to check straight away.
Someone else manages your website? Enter their email under Someone else manages the site? and click Email instructions. They get the code and the steps for the platform you picked.

#After setup
Pengo takes you to Overview. A setup checklist there shows what’s left, such as Train Pengo Intelligence, First conversation, Invite a teammate and Enable notifications. Each item links straight to the right page.
Next, send yourself a test message and invite your team.
Common questions
Do I need a credit card to sign up?
No. Creating an account and starting the 14-day Team trial doesn't need a card.
What if I close the setup halfway through?
Sign in again and Pengo picks up where you left off. Your business details and website are saved as soon as you continue past each step.
Can I change what I chose during setup?
Yes. You can change your website, widget and assistant at any time, in Settings and in Intelligence.
