Install Pengo on Squarespace

Add the Pengo chat widget to your Squarespace site with Code Injection. Paste one snippet into the footer and it shows on every page.

On Squarespace, you add Pengo through Code Injection, which places code on every page of your site. You paste the snippet into the footer box once and the chat bubble appears site-wide.

#Add the snippet with Code Injection

  1. In your Squarespace dashboard, go to Settings › Advanced › Code Injection.

    In newer versions of Squarespace, Code Injection may sit under Settings › Developer Tools instead. Searching the dashboard for “Code Injection” finds it either way.

  2. Paste the snippet into the Footer box.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Open your site in a new tab, logged out or in a private window. The chat bubble appears in the corner.

#Check that it works

Look for the bubble on your live site, then confirm that Pengo has detected the install. Verify your installation walks through it, with a troubleshooting checklist if the bubble doesn’t show.

Common questions

I can't find Code Injection. Where is it?

Squarespace has moved it between versions, and it isn't available on every plan. Use the search in your Squarespace dashboard to look for Code Injection, and check that your plan includes it.
