Install Pengo on Wix

Add the Pengo chat widget to your Wix site with Wix's Custom Code setting. Paste one snippet at the end of the body on all pages.

Wix lets you add code to every page of your site from one place, called Custom Code. You add the Pengo snippet there once, and the chat bubble shows across your published site.

#Add the snippet with Custom Code

Go to your site’s dashboard in Wix and open Settings.
Find Custom Code (in the Advanced section) and open it.
Click + Add Custom Code.

Paste the snippet into the code box.

Give the code a name you’ll recognise, such as Pengo chat.
Under Add Code to Pages, choose All pages and Load code once.
Under Place Code in, choose Body - end.
Click Apply.
Open your published site in a new tab. The chat bubble appears in the corner.

Custom code doesn’t run in the Wix editor or preview. Check your live site.

#Check that it works

Open your published site in a private window and look for the bubble, then confirm that Pengo has detected the install. Verify your installation walks through it, with a troubleshooting checklist if the bubble doesn’t show.

Common questions

I can't find Custom Code in my Wix settings. Why?

Custom code isn't available on every Wix plan. Check that your Wix plan allows custom code and that your site is published.

Should I choose Load code once or on each new page?

Load code once. Pengo follows page changes on its own, so it doesn't need to reload on every page.
